What is preselling?

Preselling is the most effective way to earn affiliate commissions. In a nutshell, effect preselling warms your visitor up before sending them to the product sales page.

The benefit of taking this step is that you increase your chances of earning a commission. When done properly, you send your visitor to the sales page in a “buying mood” and they are much more likely to make the final purchase.

If done incorrectly, you destroy your changes of making the sale. So it’s extremely important to presell effectively. Please see our other articles on how to presell and how not to presell. And then be sure to sign up for free and let us presell for you.

    Hi Dustin,

Can the content created be run through “Copyscape” to verify its uniqueness and are all article titles and subtitles unique? Also, is there any residual footprint produced that could lead in a Google slap or total ban?

      Hi Nigel,

This is a relevant concern, but the Google slap doesn’t actually have anything to do with duplicate content and no one is penalized for duplicate content. Google slap refers to be being hit with exorbitant AdWords costs for have a low “quality score.” And that score is a rating of the combination of how well your keywords match your landing page and your click-through ratio. The only real draw-back to duplicate content is that you won’t get indexed. You can have as much duplicate content as you want – you just won’t ever show up in the search engines for it.

And *that’s* why we make sure each article is as unique as possible. There’s no way to make these articles 100% unique – but copyscore will show at most 20% -30% duplicated words. This far below the threshold for being considered unique content because you’re going to have duplicated words no matter what.

      Hope that helps!

Pretty Awesome thing,, I think this will definitely skyrocket commissions for affiliate marketers . Great job, Hope you will upgrade this system for specific clickbank product to presell it…

      Hey Bradal,

Each article does presell a specific product. They just don’t mention the products by name. This is on purpose, so the articles don’t seem like a sales pitch – just great content.

Then the casual links inside the articles are more likely to be clicked. From there the product sales page takes over… ;-)

    Hi Dustin,
Have a quick question for you. Does the product presell match a product with the specific niche that a blog is based around? Are there any keywords that will be given as to help with seo to increase rankings and such? If I have a blog on dog barking, will that be what the article will be about is my question?

    Thanks, michael

      Hi Michael,

All the articles will be in the internet marketing niche to start. In the future we will do other niches, but for now it’s all IM.

If affiliate commisions are being payed to me by clickbank, why do I need a Pay Dot account? Bill

    • Dustin Struckman August 28, 2010 at 10:15 pm #

Hey Bill, I’ll also be promoting PayDotCom products on your blog from time to time, as well. So I want to make sure you get paid for them, too. :)

Does PresellPro only work with Clickbank products? How often is new content written?

    • Dustin Struckman August 28, 2010 at 10:14 pm #

      Hi Jennifer,

Yes, I will be mostly promoting ClickBank products for you on your blog. And some PayDotCom products, as well. My goal is to post a new article for you at least every few days…

Hi Dustin: I have a domain that I have done nothing with. It is very general in name–reviewstosave.com. In your opinion, would this domain be suitable for this service? Would it be too difficult to rank?

    • Dustin Struckman August 28, 2010 at 10:11 pm #

I’m thinking this domain is a bit unfocused. You will do best if you keep the following in mind:

When you pick a domain name here are a few things to consider:

      1. Try to include some keywords that relate to internet marketing like: internet marketing, online marketing, affiliate marketing, make money, etc

      2. Don’t use hyphens like: my-awesome-blog.com. This will not not be good for SEO.

      3. Try to keep it short. Max of 5 words. Max of 30 characters. For example, although this has keywords in it, it’s a bad domain: internetmarketingonlinemarketingaffiliatemarketing.com

      4. Use .com only. It’s more professional and makes it easier to sell if you ever choose to.

Here’s a great video showing how to set up wordpress on a brand new domain in under 5 minutes.

About getting a domain name, it is very difficult to find something good available in dot com, what would you suggest that would work better? a dot com with hyphens, a dot co, or a dot me domain?

        • Dustin Struckman November 23, 2010 at 3:36 am #

You can use other domain extensions. Some people say you should only use .com, and I think in general this is good advice. However, if you just can’t find one you like then go ahead and use another extension. I’ve found, though, that if spend a little time and get a little creative I can always find a .com that works. PresellPro.com is a case in point – I just registered it a few months ago. ;-)

    Hi Dustin

Just to check, if I have my own wordpress blog and web hosting service, can I use them instead of host gator?

    • Dustin Struckman October 21, 2010 at 8:44 pm #

Yes, of course you can. Host Gator just makes it easy for people who don’t already have a blog.

If we’re all preselling internet related products, are we all getting the same articles? Isn’t IM over saturated and nearly impossible for newbies like me to break into?

    • karin February 16, 2011 at 7:21 pm #

      Hi Cheryl,
First, sorry for the delay in response.
We spin the articles to make them unique as unique as possible. There’s no way to make these articles 100% unique – but copyscore will show at most 20% -30% duplicated words. It would probably be difficult to break into the IM market on your own, but with the expertly written posts from PresellPro and great training you have a good shot at making it happen.
